As the pot smoke clears from the black-lit computer offices throughout the left-wing blogosphere, hallucinations of grandeur will appear. The new left guru, the ultra-rich-through-inheritance egghead Ned Lamont, will carry the water for the Moveon.org crazies while halfway reasonable blue collar Democrats (who really work for a living) will abandon them in droves. What a beautiful thing!
The Democrat Party has finally exposed who they truly are by nominating Ned Lamont with open arms in Connecticut. A message has been sent loud and clear that anyone who does not hold a cut-and-run anti-war position in the Democrat Party need apply for a Senate nomination. Joe Lieberman’s dismissal is only the beginning of what I hope will be a complete hostile takeover of the Democrat Party by leftist psychos.
A hostile leftist takeover could set-up a dream primary battle for political junkies like myself: a cage match between Gore, Kerry, Hillary, and Edwards vying to win the “Most Extreme Leftist Challenge.” What would be better than Gore, Kerry, and Hillary screaming insults at each other until their veins pop out while Edwards combs his hair for trailer park moms? It would be simultaneously an ugly and beautiful thing to witness.
As soon as Lieberman’s sabotaged website is back up, I will donate to his campaign. Nothing could be sweeter than a left-wing takeover in a primary followed by a left wing meltdown in November. Therefore, I will be glad to help finance their demise.
However, Republicans shouldn’t get too excited, because they have a lot of work to do to hold the House and Senate. Remember that Republicans also have problems from the left too, and that is George W. Bush. Like it or not, President Bush is very liberal when it comes to immigration reform, government spending, free trade, education, and agriculture. If Republicans could unite behind conservative principles and nationalize the congressional elections like they did in 1994, they would hold their majorities in both houses.
Senator Rick Santorum’s poll numbers started to rebound when he made his pro-war speech to the National Press Club last month. Therefore it is plausible to conclude that a strong security message coupled with an unapologetic embracement of conservative principles can be a winning formula this cycle.
Left wing nuts may be winning primaries and consolidating their power within the Democrat party, but their membership has been progressively decreasing since the McGovernite takeover of 1972. Lets hope they continue down the road to destruction. I’ll bust out the beer and popcorn to gleefully watch.
